1.     NAME

The Committee shall be known as Western Traveller and Intercultural development, (WTID) hereafter referred to as such and shall cover the area of Tuam and its environs.

2.      AIMS

The main aims of the Committee shall be:

(1)       The involvement of the Traveller people in Tuam and its environs in the     promotion of the educational, cultural and economic welfare of the whole community In Tuam and its Hinterland.

(2)       In furtherance of the main object, the powers of the Committee shall be:

(a) to represent the community as a whole, in dealings with local governmental statutory bodies, and other agencies in seeking, when considered necessary, technical, financial or other assistance in the promotion of Youth services, Primary Health care, After-schools services, Men and Women’s projects, sporting activities, Training and educational projects to young Travellers and disadvantaged people in the Tuam Area.
