Parents can apply for the payment from 20th June 2022 until 30th September 2022
The scheme provides a €160 or €285 once-off payment per child to help cover the costs of school uniforms.
To qualify, children must be aged between 4 -17 years old on 30th September 2022
If they are aged between 18-22, they must be returning to full-time second-level education in a recognised school or college.
This year, the allowance for children aged 4 – 17 on 30th September 2022 is €160,
Children aged between 12 and 17 on the same date qualify for the €285 payment.
To be eligible for the payment, there is a weekly income limit of €620 if you have one dependent child. This limit is increased by €48 per dependent child.
They said: “If you qualify for the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance payment you will automatically get a confirmation letter before 20th June 2022.
“If you do not get a letter confirming you will get the payment automatically by 20th June 2022, you can apply for the BTSCFA online on www.MyWelfare.ie.
“The BTSCFA scheme is open for applications from 20 June 2022 until 30 September 2022.”
