During our Traveller Pride week this year, we were delighted to welcome famous actor John Connors to launch the opening of Tuam Arts Academy.

This was a week-long celebration of the wonderful talent and culture of the Travelling community of Tuam.

On Wednesday we welcomed the HSE along with many other services that Western Traveller collaborates with.

On Thursday we celebrated and recognised the achievements of our young people. John Connors hosted a two-day acting workshop that saw over 30 young people from the community engage in. Other activities from the week included a women’s group display, soccer, box-fit, horse riding, music, singing, story-telling, traditional bread-making by Nora Ward, wagon workshops, and many more activities.
